International cricket starts again at the Basin tomorrow and goes for, I dunno, like, five days.
Well, the Dropkicks will be there on Sunday and will be giving away Epic beer for those who can come up with a clever banner.
Also this could be the last time an international test is played at the Basin. Yes, they have said that before, but this time they could be right!
Yeah, I've been watching the progress of the grass around those practice wickets over the last couple of weeks, and things aren't looking too good.
The rest of the grass is absolutely immaculate, but the practice wicket area is bumpy and has big bare patches -- no fun for whoever has to field down there.
All re-laid over the winter too. I think the practice block has even doubled in size this season.
Along with the main block, there was also new improved drainage installed.
I thought they had a couple of indoor nets underneath the main stand?
Which is where they feed the media and other guests during the game...
