Greenpeaces "Rainbow Warrior" in town - free visit on Saturday and Sunday

Submitted by Mike Riversdale on Wed, 2008-04-02 16:22.

It's not often a true blue hero bowls up into town and let's you poke around their innards but it's happened!

The famous Greenpeace boat, Rainbow Warrior, that you'll have seen on TV tussling with the Japanese whale hunting ships in the Southern ocean is currently moored up on Queens Wharf.

On Saturday and Sunday they're giving free tours of the boat.

Saw it sailing in this morning on my way into the city - an impressive and poignant site. Will definitely pay a visit at the weekend.
Thanks

i was excited to go visit the ship again, but not so sure after what happened in Christchurch and Greenpeace's response.

I'm going to channel my inner Marxist here: is it Greenpeace's fault that the police prioritise protecting the property rights of large corporates over dealing with violence?

Greenpeace were breaking laws, so the police went out to a call. it's just not safe to go out of port unscheduled or without a tug.

So the police stepped in about THAT
